The Vienna-Qom Circle for Catholic-Shi’a Dialogue on Religion, Philosophy and Political Theory (ViQo Circle) is a group of scholars founded by Sheikh Dr. Taher Amini Golestani of Qom, Iran and Dr. Christian Machek of Vienna, Austria. After organizing conferences in Qom (2014) and Vienna (2016), they decided to formally found ViQo as circle that brings together Christian and Muslim scholars to exchange ideas and develop friendships. The intention is to have a conference every two years, alternating between Iran and Europe, and to increase the exchange of ideas and papers between conferences on the ViQo Website.
